I am a servant beloved of his lord,
one who says the truth without anything escaping his attention,
one controlled of heart when time is hurried,
one alert in acting among people,
one who gives more than what is told to him,
one whose skill is apt in every matter,
one who listens so that he might act according to what is said,
one who acts according to what is desired,
one who listens to (his) associate, competent in acting,
a kindly one, excellent of utterances,
one self-possessed, free from excess,
one just and without greed,
one who endures irritation, a man of precision,
one righteous, one effective of actions.

  • Diese Phrasen sind übersetzt bei M. Lichtheim, Maat in Egyptian Autobiographies and Related Studies (OBO 120), Freiburg und Göttingen 1992, 33-34.

    - ḫrp jb wnw.t ꜣs.t: After Doxey, Egyptian Non-Ryoal Epithets (PÄ 12), Leiden/Boston/Köln 1998, 357: "Controlled of heart when time is hurried" (vgl.
    - smnḫ mj n.tt jb r=s: Lit. "who makes (things) accomplished according to that which the heart is after".
    - šw m ḥnw: Lichtheim (1992, 34) translates "anger"; if ḥn.w is to be interpreted as a separate word, it is a hapax. ḥꜣ.w: "excess" fits the context very well.
    - mꜣꜥ.tj jw.tj ꜥwn jb=f: Burton (in: Moss 1932, pl. 47b) has jb r instead of jb=f, and this has been adopted by Lichtheim (1992, 34), who is thus compelled to emend to mꜣꜥ.tj jw.tj wꜥ(ꜣ) / wn-jb r wḫd.w sfn.w: "a righteous one who does not plot evil. / Heedful to the pained and suffering"; the stela has clearly an f (as stated also by Moss 1932, 311).
