The reading of the toponym Rṯn.w is controversial, see Edel (Seyfried/Vieler, eds.) 2008: 468 (e), cf. Espinel, DE 59, 2004: 16, c.

The reading ⸢n⸣-zp is according to Edel (Seyfried/Vieler, eds.) 2008: 467, fig. 1a and Newberry 1938: 182. The phrase §n-zp§ probably has a meaning similar to that of m-zp "once", see Wb. III 438, 8-11, cf. Espinel, DE 59, 2004: 16.

Sethe suggested the reading Kꜣš "Kush" rather than Kbn "Byblos", see Urk. I 140, 17. However, Kbn "Byblos" can be clearly read on the inscription, see Edel (Seyfried/Vieler, eds.) 2008: 467. It is the earliest occurrence of Byblos in an Egyptian inscription, see Sethe, ZÄS 45, 10.
