- Die Übersetzungen unterscheiden sich darin, ob der Pfeilmacher etwas für seinen Esel gibt, d.h. für ihn bezahlt (so Seibert, Charakteristik, 168; gefolgt von Helck, Simpson, Brunner, Hoch, Roccati), oder ob er seinem Esel etwas gibt (so Wilson, Lichtheim, Lalouette, Parkinson, Vernus, Quirke, Jäger).
