  • Man nimmt meistens an, daß sꜣ.tw vom Verb sꜣꜣ "weise sein" kommt, aber zum einen wäre die nicht-geminierte Form dann ein Subjunktiv, zum anderen ist eine Bedeutung "erkennen" in den Wörterbüchern nicht verzeichnet. Daher ergänzt Dévaud zum Verb sjꜣ "erkennen" und Fecht zum Verb sꜣwi̯ "verlängern" (in: MDAIK 47, 1991, 116). Man könnte auch an das Verb sꜣi̯ "sättigen" denken, da vorher von sm "versorgen" die Rede ist: "Mit dem, was er kennengelernt hat, wird der Weise gesättigt sein" (so Parkinson, Tale of Sinuhe, 262 und Junge, Die Lehre Ptahhoteps, 202 und 259).
