Comments
  • wḫdt is elsewhere attested only as a feminine pair to wḫd in medical texts (Wb. I, 356.14; see Kolta and Tessenow 2000), so the masculine is more likely here. I read as m-tꜣ-ꜣt on the basis of the frequency of this phrase (Wb. I, 1.17), and it is to be understood 'immediately, at that point in time' rather than 'now' in view of the preceding past tense. I take jm=s as referring to ꜣt, hence the time in which the suffering occurred. (see: R. Enmarch, forthcoming, A World Upturned: The Ancient Egyptian Dialogue of Ipuwer and the Lord of All. To appear in the British Academy Postdoctoral Monograph Series)
