  • - ꜣ.t jh=f: Der Zeitbegriff ꜣ.t bedeutet den Augenblick, Zeitpunkt u.ä. der größten Machtentfaltung, d.h. den "Höhepunkt" u.ä. (Ogden, in: GM 164, 1998, 79-83). Dieser "Augenblick" kann zwar etwas länger dauern (s. Sanchez/Meltzer, Edwin Smith Papyrus, 2012, 58-59: "the (critical) period of his injury"), aber ꜣ.t impliziert an sich nicht die Zeitdauer. Deshalb ist "Zeit des Leidens" (oder "period of injury" [Breasted, Allen], "la période douloureuse" [Bardinet]) als Übersetzung ungenau. Für T. Hofmann, in: ZÄS 135, 2008, 45 handelt es sich bei swꜣi̯ ꜣ.t jh=f "wohl zweifellos um einen Sterbenden, dessen letzte Minuten in uns sehr nahe stehender Weise mit 'Leidenszeit' beschrieben werden."
