  • - ḏd=f ḫꜣi̯.t=s: Das Suffix in ḏd[=f] ist unsicher. Es wird nicht von Breasted, Surgical Papyrus, 103 ergänzt. Sanchez/Meltzer, Edwin Smith Papyrus, 32 und 34 emendieren zu 〈m〉-ḏd, d.h. sie vermuten eine Haplographie von m durch das vorangehende jm. Außerdem erkennen sie in dem anschließenden ḫꜣi̯.t=s kein Suffixpronomen =s, sondern das Substantiv z: "Mann" (ohne Determinativ!): "〈namely〉: '[Exam]ining a man by finger in order to know what has happened therein.'" ("examining by finger" ist Meltzers Umschreibung der Bedeutung des Verbs ḫꜣi̯). Beim Suffixpronomen =s, das von den meisten Bearbeitern beibehalten wird, stellt sich die Frage, worauf es sich bezieht (ꜥ.t nb.t?). Ist ḫꜣi̯.t=s ein Infinitiv (vgl. Kol. 8: ḏd=f ḫꜣi̯.t r [...]) mit Objektspronomen, oder soll man ḫꜣi̯.t(w)=s lesen?
