  • Goedicke, Pi(ankh)y, 17f., spricht sich für eine andere Lesung aus. Da das Demonstrativpronomen nn keinen Bezug auf eine vorher genannte Personengruppe hat, müsse es sich hier um das Verb nn.y "to be inert" handeln. Zudem sei der dritte Titel jm,j-rʾ-mšꜥ singularis. Folglich schlägt er 2 Sätze vor, der erste ein "temporal clause", der zweite eine Pseudoverbalkonstruktion mit Infinitiv. nʾ,t referiert für ihn auf die Stadt Theben. Weiter erkennt er das Verb snhb, das er für snhp "aufspringen lassen" hält. Seine Übersetzung lautet entsprechend: "While the chiefs and the mayor were inert, the troop-commander, who was in the Town, was dispatching to his Majesty daily." Goedickes Überlegungen überzeugen mich nicht. Mit Grimal, Stèle triomphale, 18, halte ich den singularis von jm,j-rʾ-mšꜥ für einen Schreibfehler. Unklar bleibt, ob es sich um eine Auflistung von 3 Personengruppen (wr, ḥꜣ,tj-ꜥ und jm,j-rʾ-mšꜥ) handelt, oder ob ḥꜣ,tj-ꜥ und jm,j-rʾ-mšꜥ eine Apposition zu wr.pl ist.
