  • hꜣb wird hier als Infinitiv + Objekt verstanden (so auch Borghouts, in: CdE 56, 1981, 65, Anm. 1). Inhaltlich paßt eine aktive Form sḏm=f mit ꜥšꜣ.t als Objekt (so Wilson, Helck, Simpson, Parkinson, Quirke) oder als Adverb (so Hoch) nicht gut. Jäger emendiert zu hꜣb.tw=k, um eine passive Bedeutung zu bekommen (passiv ebenfalls Lichtheim, Brunner, Lalouette, Roccati, Vernus). Das Verb wird in oDeM 1529 und oWeill mit dem Pflug determiniert, wie das Verb hbi̯: "eintreten", was von Foster als Grundlage für seine Übersetzung "Now, it is good that you should cultivate many things" genommen wird (s. Foster, in: Teeter und Larson (Hgg.), Gold of Praise. Fs Wente, SAOC 58, Chicago 1999, 125).
    Kap. 29 wird von Foster wesentlich anders als hier verstanden.
