  • Certaines variantes comme ici, ont substitué au fils le dieu Geb. Comme l’a noté Derchain, Papyrus Salt 825, X on connaît plusieurs exemples où ce théonyme remplace le nom de Seth pour éviter d’avoir à l’écrire. Allen, Book of the Dead, 215 donne encore une autre interprétation à ce passage puisqu’il suggère que Geb transforme le frère d’Osiris, c’est-à-dire Seth, en crocodile. Barguet, Livre des Morts, 239 qui traduit le passage par "son plus jeune ( ?) fils a institué cela (…)" ne donne malheureusement pas d’explication à sa traduction.
    En suivant la proposition de traduction de Dahms, Pehal, Willems, in JEA 100 (2014), 410 note 78, on peut proposer ici, sans avoir besoin de corriger le texte "Geb l'a fait en tant que crocodile." ou Geb sert à désigner Seth.
