  • - šnꜥ.w: hängt mit der Wurzel šnꜥ: "abwehren, abhalten von, zurückweisen" zusammen und wird deshalb als "Verstopfung" (MedWb II, 859-860), "obstruction" (Breasted, 488), "accumulation" (Walker, 137, 140) übersetzt. šnꜥ.w n.j snf kann sowohl als "Behinderung des Blutes" (Objektsgenitiv) als auch "Behinderung bestehend aus Blut" (Genitiv des Materials: so MedWb I, 435) übersetzt werden. Als Diagnose der Ursache des Leidens kommt eher ein Objektsgenitiv in Betracht, als Identifizierung des gefundenen "Etwas" eher eine Materialangabe.
    - ḥr jd.t: Es ist auffällig, daß die Verstopfung "auf/über" (ḥr) und nicht "in" (m) dem Uterus ist. Das Wort jd.t (teilweise auch ḥm.t gelesen) bedeutet wohl nur "Uterus, Gebärmutter" (MedWb II, 597-600; Lefebvre, Tableau, 41, § 47; Weeks, Anatomical Knowledge, 67; Walker, Anatomical Terminology, 266; Westendorf, HdO, 221; vgl. aber auch demot. ꜣt.t/ꜥt.t [Westendorf, HdO, 220] und kopt. ⲟⲟⲧⲉ (S) und ⲟϯⲓ (B) für "womb" [Crum, Coptic Dictionary, 257a]) und nicht auch noch "Vulva, weibliche äußere Geschlechtsorgane" (so Wb. III, 76.1-3; Breasted, Edwin Smith, 488; Grapow, Grundriss I, 88-89; Gardiner, AEO, II, 258*-262*; Hannig, Handwörterbuch, 129).
