  • ꜥfd: wird in Wb. I, 183.12 als ein Substantiv angesetzt. Es steht unter dem Lemma ꜥfd als Verb "führen" (Wb. I, 183.11), das in pWestcar (Zl. 7.26) für die Wege verwendet wird, die der Ba kennen möge und die zu einem Tor führen. Wilson vermutet daher die substantivische Bedeutung "guide" und Lichtheim hat gleichweise "goal". Scharff hält es für einen zweiten Infinitiv neben ḫni̯.t: "die Stätte des sich Niederlassens und des Hinführens des Herzens". Faulkner versteht es als attributives Partizip zu s.t n.t ḫni̯.t: "a resting-place-which-leads of the heart", d.h. "a resting-place attractive to the heart". Quirke liest ꜥfd.t: "Kasten" im Sinne von "treasure-chest". Goedicke liest nicht ꜥfd, sondern n fdi̯ n.(j)t-jb: "(eine Ruhestätte) für einen, der ausreißt das-was-zum-Herz-gehört", d.h. "for someone weary of desire". Letellier, in: CRIPEL 13, 1991 (Mélanges J.J. Clère), 100-105 liest n fdq jb: "Cet (état) est une situation de repos pour le désespéré", mit fdq jb als "(un) dissocié-de-coeur" (gefolgt von Mathieu: "voilà la place de repos pour celui dont le coeur est déchiré").
