  • - mḫnt: Ist ein seltenes Wort, gebildet aus dem Lokalpräfix m und der Wurzel ḫnt. Es wird in Wb. II, 132.5 mit "Antlitz (eig. Vorderseite?)" übersetzt. Grapow, Anatomie, 30 gibt für unsere Textstelle im Papyrus Edwin Smith, Kol. 3.10: "Gesicht". In MedWb I, 387 findet man "Stirn". Lefebvre, Tableau des parties du corps humain, 13-14, § 12 listet nur ḫnt auf, was er beschreibt als "désignant à la fois 'visage' et 'front', autrement dit la partie antérieure de la tête". In der Glosse D (Kol. 3.18-19) steht ḫnt statt mḫnt, aber es gibt an dieser Stelle keinen Grund, hinter gmm=k die Präposition m + Substantiv ḫnt zu lesen.
    - bꜣi̯ oder bꜣj kommt als (Adjektiv-)Verb nur im Papyrus Edwin Smith vor. Das Determinativ und der Kontext legen eine Bedeutung "feucht sein" o.ä. nahe (Wb. I, 417.11-12; MedWb I, 239-240; Hannig, HWB, 255; Faulkner, CDME, 77: "damp"; Breasted, Surgical Papyrus, 181 und 192: "clammy"), aber die Intensität der Feuchtigkeit ist in den Übersetzungen teilweise unterschiedlich (Chapman, in: JARCE 29, 1992, 37: "moist"; Nunn, Egyptian Medicine, 181: "wet"; Lefebvre, Essai sur la médecine égyptienne, 182: "moite de"; Bardinet, Papyrus médicaux, 498: "enduit de (sueur)").
