  • n kann sowohl Genitiv als auch Dativ sein. Gardiner übersetzt: "The mouth of the liar veils the face of excellence." (Genitiv), ähnlich Vernus: "C'est la parole du menteur qui dissimule l'apparence de l'excellence." Quirke scheint von einem Dativ auszugehen: "the mouth of the liar is the veil on excellence". Im Ausdruck ṯꜣm ḥr n: "das Gesicht verhüllen vor", d.h. "jemanden gegenüber nachsichtig sein", ist n die Dativ-Präposition. Eine Übersetzung: "Es ist der Mund des Lügners, der der Vortrefflichkeit gegenüber nachsichtig ist" wäre inhaltlich gesehen merkwürdig.
