    - Mit ꜥḏi̯ ist das Verb Wb. I, 240, 3: "worfeln, zeihen; in einem Korb oder Sieb aussortieren" gemeint, wie von Perry, A Critical Study, 310 und vor allem von Parkinson, A Commentary, 143 und Fecht, in: Fs Simpson, I, 257 festgestellt wurde.
    - Über die grammatische Form von ꜥḏ.yw als Singular oder Plural und über die Struktur des Nominalsatzes herrscht aber Uneinigkeit:
    -- Perry, A Critical Study, 307: "A sieve that cleans are the investigators."
    -- Parkinson, The Tale of Sinuhe: 65: "Those hearers and winnowers are a basket,"
    -- Fecht, in: Fs Simpson, I, 235: "das-ist-das-Korb=Sieb, das-die-Richter-worfelt(/seiht)," (S. 257: gemeint ist, daß Rensi die Beamten nur kontrollieren kann, wenn er nicht selbst lügt).
