Mehrere grammatische Lösungen sind diskutabel: (1) Caminos, S. 321 geht von zwei parallelen Verbalsätzen aus: „The silent one came and found the well“. Im gegebenen Kontext erscheint aber eine präteritale Übersetzung wenig sinnvoll und ist zudem zumindest für jwi̯ grammatisch nicht möglich. (2) Hauptsatz gmi̯=f mit vorgeschaltetem uneingeleiteten konditionalen jwi̯; so A. Erman, Neuaegyptische Grammatik, Leipzig, 2. Auflage, 1933, S. 411, § 812; zu Sätzen dieses und ähnlichen Musters s. Popko, in: LingAeg 21, 2013, 167-179. (3) Ein prospektivisches jwi̯ pꜣ gr als Hauptsatz, gefolgt von einem nicht-initialen, prospektivischen gmi̯=f tꜣ ẖnm.t als Konsekutivsatz (vgl. J. Cerny, S.I.
