Edel (2008: 31) transcribed the bird sign in Sabni's name as ꜣ referring to the rare use of the ending jꜣ in Old Kingdom names (see Ranke, PN II, p. 129). It may also be a misspelling of the sparrow sign (G 37) with the meaning šrj "the youngest".
