  • Die Lesung des Substantivs, das den Todesort des Kambyses bezeichnet, ist unsicher. Spiegelberg (S. 31 Anm. 1 eine Lesung tm'w(?) (sic) "Matte" vor (mit der koptischen Rekonstruktion *hipetmê; "Matte" ist allerdings nur als mask. tom bezeugt); ebenso z.B. Devauchelle, Transeuphratène 9, 1995, 74: "il mourut sur la natte(?)". Bresciani, EVO 4, 1981, 217ff. denkt an phonetische Schreibung für ḏbꜣ "Vergeltung", was aber paläographisch nicht paßt. - dmj "Stadt" (mit dem üblichen Ortsdeterminativ) ist m.W. noch nicht vorgeschlagen worden und sachlich problematisch. Für den Gebrauch von ḥr bei dmj vgl. Louvre E 3452 (Livre de Transformations), VII 7 und den Brief an Götter Kairo CG 50015, 6. Zur selten bezeugten Bedeutung "Festland" vgl. Wb V 455, 11 (Rosettana, griech. êpeiros, demot. Z. 12 n pꜣ ꜥt "zu Lande"). D. Agut-Labordère, CRIPEL 28, 2009/10, 355 denkt an eine Schreibung tmj für mjt "Weg"(!)
