Zwei tiefe Bohrlöcher und eine konkave Abarbeitung der Sockelkante deuten darauf hin, dass hier ursprünglich der Name Narmers größer und ohne Falken auf dem Serech geschrieben war (siehe Krauss, MDAIK 50, 1994, 225-226).
