The word ḥs(w),t can be taken as a noun meaning "praise". It is used in the epithet n.j ḥs.t which refers to the word sꜣ. This epithet has a similar meaning to n.j-mrw,t "which belongs to the love (i.e. the beloved)", see Edel 2008: 32. obs. a) and b). It has also been suggested that the word ḥs.t is used to label a particular phyle in mtj-n.j-Ḥs,t (?) "regulator of (the phyle) Ḥs,t (?)", see Jones 2000: 452 (No. 1693).
