  • Das Wort für Milz nnšm (Wb 2, 276.17–20, Walker, Anatom. Term., 271) kommt in den Oracular Amuletic Decrees hauptsächlich in den Versprechen zur Gesunderhaltung der Körperteile vor (pLondon BM EA 10308 (L3), B x+59–60; pLondon BM EA 10587 (L6), Rto. 35–36; pTurin Cat. 1983 (T1), Vso. 90–91; pTurin Cat. 1984 (T2), Vso. 37; pParis BN 182 (P4), 49; pLondon BM EA 10899 (C2), Rto. 35; pBerlin 10462 (B) Rto. 85). Dort wird regelmäßig die jüngere Variante nšj(w) geschrieben (vgl. Meeks AL, 77.2213), die den zeitgenössischen Lautbestand des Wortes darstellt, der sich im Demotischen nyš (CDD N, 21) sowie im Koptischen ⲛⲟⲉⲓϣ (Crum, Dict., 236a; Černý, CDD, 114; Vycichl, Dict. étym., 141b) erhalten hat. Interessanterweise findet die Milz im Papyrus T2 (Rto. 70) ein zweites Mal, und zwar in einem Versprechen zum Schutz vor (Krankheits)leid an unterschiedlichen Körperteilen in einer Aufzählung nochmals Erwähnung. Dort ist der Begriff aber in der traditionellen Schreibung nnšm belegt, was auf unterschiedliche Zeithorizonte in den verwendeten Vorlage(n) hindeuten könnte.
