kwšn: laut des Determinativs ist es ein lederner Gegenstand. Gardiner, EHT, 26*, Anm. 14 und 15 errät "girth", d.h. "Gurt", Wente übersetzt ähnlich mit "harness(?)". Fischer-Elfert folgt einer Etymologie von Helck vom akkadischen gušannu: "Ledersack" (ebenso Hannig, Handwörterbuch, 950 {35164}). Hoch, Semitic Words, 314-315, Nr. 453 akzeptiert die Etymologie, aber er denkt an einen Teil des Geschirrs wie "saddle pads" oder eventuell "reins". Schneider, in: JSSEA 35, 2008, 189, Nr. 24: Teil des Geschirrs, ev. Pferdedecke oder die Polster unter den Jochgabeln(?); aus akkad. kušanu: "Lederdecke, Kissen". Das Wort steht vielleicht auch im Brooklyner Weisheitstext, Kol. 2.14 (teilzerstört).
