  • Die beiden Königsnamen sind ausgehackt. Zur Identifikation mit Aspelta siehe I. Hofmann, Studien zum meroitischen Staat, MRE 2, Brüssel, S. 17 sowie J. Leclant, in: Textes et Langages II, BdE 64, 1972, S. 131. Die Zuweisung an Aspelta ist allerdings nicht unumstritten, siehe hierzu K.-H. Priese, in: D. Wildung (Hrsg.), Sudan. Antike Königreiche am Nil, München 1996, S. 207. Nach K.-H. Priese (persönliche Mitteilung vom 16.11.2015) entspricht zum einen der sorgfältige Schriftstil der Stele eher dem Duktus der 25. Dynastie, zum anderen sind in den ausgehackten Kartuschen sehr wahrscheinlich drei Schriftquarate zu rekonstruieren. Der Name des Aspelta füllt dagegen nur zwei Schriftquatdrate.
