"der in der Dunkelheit kommt", d.h. sie verstehen die Präposition m als "in", sicherlich im temporalen Sinne (ähnlich Borghouts, Ancient Egyptian Magical Texts, 41; Fischer-Elfert, Altägyptische Zaubersprüche, 72). Die Übersetzung "aus" versteht "Dunkelheit" als einen lokalen Begriff.
Laut Fischer-Elfert, Altägyptische Zaubersprüche, 147, Nr. 48 sind die Wesen, die aus der Dunkelheit kommen, hier Wochenbettgeister, ähnlich Lamaštu in Babylonien und Lilith bei Jes. 34, 14.
